St. James’ Episcopal Church in Mill Creek, suburban New Castle County Delaware, is a vibrant church with a lot going on, including an active teen youth group.  But you really couldn’t tell it from looking at their website. So they hired Kairos to give the church what the Rev. Jim Bimbi, St. James’ rector, called “the most stupendous, interesting, can’t-take-your-eyes-off-of-it online presence in North America.  Anything in addition to this would be gravy.”

The church dates to 1714 but is thoroughly contemporary in its approach to Christian spirituality. Lee Ann met several times with the Rector and a team of parishioners — first, to understand what they valued and wanted to convey about their church and later to show progress and get feedback.  She also took pictures that became graphic elements on the site – especially, the unique stone edifice of the church. She designed large rotating sliders to convey the life and work of St. James’, attended services, and shot and produced a series of member vignettes that clearly showed their love for their church.

She also worked with the rector to start a blog and record and podcast sermons.

The new site was launched in August 2013.
